This pic was sent in by a relative. He needs to clean his grill more often. These Honey bees must have swarmed and landed here this spring. It was a shame to kill the colony because we have so few colonies in the wild.

Each year at this time I have lots of calls to eradicate Yellow Jackets. Not this year. An entomologist at Oregon State has said that the very cold and rainey spring has killed off most of the over wintering queens. I believe that this kill off has applied to several other species as well. Even the carpenter ant numbers are down significantly.

Good news for homeowners and not so good for me.
